Here is the link could not post video. The attitude of the teacher is she could care less. I know that we are all about supporting our teachers, but there are some that don't care and need to go.

(51,007 posts)student who she has experience with and she doesn't want to set him off? Or is he a student that she knows has some problems and doesn't want to engage in an argument with? Or is it that this is something that this kid does every day and she is sick of him disrupting her teaching time with the rest of the students?
The fact is you don't know anything about that teacher or that student. You have no idea if she is a terrible teacher. You don't know if the kid is correct and reasonable or intentionally disruptive.
You just don't know.

(51,007 posts)Seems like the disruptive brat theory is emerging as the more likely truth.

(153,193 posts)these video bombs very often do not include context of any kind
My daughter showed me the tape, and was cheering the kid on.
I, on the other hand, was reliving the numerous kids I had to ask to leave my class because they were disrupting the education of the other students during my 11 years teaching. Many times those students would put on a show on the way out of the door - and the best thing I could do was to not react because any show of anger, interest, or whatever, wound the student I'd asked to leave back up.
It does not surprise me at all that this student is an 18 year old sophomore who has already dropped out of school for a year.

Maybe he's right, but what's in the video makes him sound like a loudmouthed troublemaker

i'm sure they were concerned with their types and motives too.

(81,871 posts)The video doesn't give us enough information about this situation, but generally I agree

(241 posts)All this video shows is the reason teachers ought to be paid triple what they're getting now, because of disruptive little shithead students like this guy. The teacher, for her part, reacted in exactly the right way by not being confrontational and escalating his little temper tantrum.
I don't think you have any idea what teachers go through day in and day out, having to deal with students who couldn't care less about learning anything. (And yes, the phrase is "COULDN'T care less", not "COULD care less". Sounds like you need to go back to school).

(55,445 posts)if the student has a legit gripe, he should go to the State Board of Education, because taking it out on the teacher won't solve much...

(26,355 posts)Wasn't interested in teaching either.
She was just interested in sitting behind her desk like a piece of fungus collecting a paycheck, instead of, you know, teaching.

(65,616 posts)up about the rest of their lives. No thanks, we saw a snapshot. The teacher could have handled the situation better then she did I agree. However 5 minutes of their lives is NOT enough for me to pass judgement on the other 1000s of minutes we don't see.

(22,336 posts)is some smart-ass teenager. He should study education and become a teacher if he has the interest, and then he'll get the same revenge that I got when I was a snotty kid to my parents and then later got to listen to my own kids be snotty.

(55,445 posts)Disciplined anyway...I've seen much more salty rants at teachers escape punishment easily...
I'm guessing the administration leave is more of a saving face move now that the kid has his 15 minutes...
I just hope to god that student has an honest, legit gripe that his classmates can corroborate

(16,856 posts)a big clue as to what's really going on here. He's heard his mom criticizing other teachers and their teaching skills. In fact, there's a good possibility that his mom and this history teacher don't get along.

I taught in a Vocational Education program to adults and at-risk high schoolers and we were NOT allowed to be found sitting during class time.
