Another reason to celebrate Mitt Romney's loss

Former Aide Says Romney Was Right, Russia Is No. 1 Geopolitical Foe

Eric Fehrnstrom, a former top aide to Mitt Romney, took to Twitter on Wednesday to claim that the 2012 Republican presidential nominee's widely mocked claim that Russia is the United States' "number one geopolitical foe."

Fehrnstrom linked to a piece in The Atlantic by Michael Hirsh, who wrote that Romney "actually had things right" about Russia — although the point was made "inartfully."

Turns out Russia is our #1 geopolitical foe http://tinyurl.com/ccdpkyc

During an appearance on CNN last year, Romney said Russia was "without question our number one geopolitical foe" — a remark that President Barack Obama's campaign used to highlight the Republican's lack of credibility on national security.

I'm not sure we have any geopolitical foes (more competitors than foes) and even if we concede that we do, certainly China would have a strong claim to being number 1.

"giant bullet dodged "

He would have used the Boston bombings as an excuse to invade another country.

Even if it's change for the good.

I think they would still insist Germany was our #1 foe if it weren't for their own fascist tendencies.
