A Woman Who Demands Her Rights And Doesn't Want To Have Kids Is Labeled A Feminist

To the GOP and conservatives a woman has NO RIGHT to even ask for her rights. She has none except to stay in the kitchen and follow orders of her husband and have sex on demand. There is no such thing as rape in marriage ala fundy style.

Religion is mostly about controlling people and subjugating women in general. And religion is the main threat to women's rights. Between the American Taliban and that Taliban women would be lucky to get bread and water. The fact that the GOP will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER support equal pay for women.

What is surprising is that so many women actually support this agenda fervently. What is more surprising is how many women actually support their new role in society.

Women are losing their rights economically more and more every day. We are quickly going backwards. The GOP meme is get back into the kitchen and too many women seem to be accepting that meme. The GOP should not get any of the women vote. They should be as bad off with women as they are minorities.

Look at how many GOP women support their subjugation. And look at how many GOP women legislators vote against women.

And I feel your frustration and anger. However your title seemed to indicate there was something wrong with being labelled as a feminist. At least to me. I did not want to increase your pain and frustration and I apologise if I did.

Here is what bothers me the most. The propaganda pushing motherhood and subservience is overwhelming these days. TV and the media is pushing motherhood and subservience more than ever now. Romney just gave a speech at a graduation at a Mormon institution about some getting busy having as many kids as they possible can.

I have noticed a huge shift. I also see a lot of young women under 25 with 2 or 3 kids already with a husband tagging along like some proud stud. Women are being assaulted economically in that most of the most severe layoffs have been in jobs where women have made the most gains particularly in teaching and government. The government austerity is a secret war against women in the work place that is under the radar. Women are being told that the only career they can expect is a low paying job and that the husband should be the provider except that most young men cannot do it now with this labor market.

The GOP has totally "F'ed" up the labor market. Sorry to say that in such a graphic way. I worked at DOL for 24 years and this new "service economy" is a complete disaster that is even worse for women.

Where are the younger women who should be out just tarring these misogynistic bastards. The situation is really very serious.

Have all but sucked out the fight out of the new generations. Some don't know any better, some don't know any different and some don't seem to care as long as they get theirs.

Everything that was fought for is at stake and those that have the knowledge and capacity to fight seem to have been sucked into the corporate whirl. At least that's what it looks like to me.

With the saturation bombing of the media and religion a 'False consciousness' is at play I think. It may take something truly horrifying to shock people out of the constructed reality.

Maybe i'm blind, or just a product of an era where the propaganda pushing motherhood was pervasive and accepted. I hated home economics in middle school but girls were not allowed to take shop so i learned to make sloppy joes and run a washing machine.

I think a society that allows fifteen year olds to have access to a morning after pill is downright progressive. Propaganda will never stop the female population and the world will see women ruling everywhere, including the white house, very soon.

I get a very strong sense that women are being positioned in so many ways. There is one particular commercial right now depicting a mother caring for her son from infancy to college. The family values and get pregnant meme seems to come up everywhere.

Politically the anti women"s reproductive rights legislation coming up up, the anti equal pay rhetoric and failure of equal pay legislation et al is so pervasive. I see women's issues being compromised everywhere. In the private sector women are discriminated against when they get pregnant or need family time. And the push to get rid of government jobs is hurting women more than ever because it is in that arena where women get equal pay, have real career ladders and have long term employment.

Single women are being urged to find a man, get married and have kids in so many ways. Religious groups are pushing femail subservience to men. Being told to vote like your husband because that supports family values.

The obvious message is get back in the kitchem and shut up. The media undermines pro women groups and undercuts them as much as possible. The messages have been coming out for a very long time so the atmosphere is that these messages are the norm.
