A open letter to the 99 percent

(Now before you look at my post count and say I am a flamer I have been here for 7 years and just did not post much!!!)

We the people have given too much to the globalization of our nation. From the obvious transfer of our wealth and jobs to the not so obvious of wage theft and off-shoring of the wealth that was made during the past 30 years (that they do not pay taxes on) and the skewed tax laws for the rich.

The corporations have WAY too much power and while they do have the right wing locked up that is at most 30 percent(50 percent of people do not vote). We have too many people who think that their vote does not count and most of these people are the ones who need to vote the most because every vote that is not taken is like a vote for the other side.Parents we need to instill in our children how important it is to vote because we are losing our democracy(and yes I know we are a Republic) we need to get everyone that we know out to vote. Our common situation will not change until we do this .No get out the vote drive will work as well as a ground swell of the grass roots. It all starts with YOU and YOUR circle of friends and it will grow from that .

We need to make this our #1 cause between now and 2014 do not worry about who is running just get everyone you can to vote.we have to take the country BACK from the corporations ,and while it would be nice to have a leader to say this , we must lead from the bottom A great slogan "If you do not vote DO NOT COMPLAIN!!!"

except in the very few instances where there is no democratic person who can win,
and the other person will promise 100% to caucus with the dems.

As for me, anything President Obama wants is 100% fine by me.
And I have the back of Harry Reid, perhaps the greatest tactical behind the scenes ever.
He knows what he is doing (no its not satire, I love Harry).

and those that didn't in the past vote for the democratic candidate indeed, have ZERO right to complain.Especially the 3rd party spoilers, the Ron Paul fans, the Ralph Nader fans, the David Duke fans. The three of them have done more to harm America than any others.

2. I vote every year

That said: My vote does not count. I live in the Western part of Texas, and no matter how much I try, this part of Texas is going for the repugs. The exact numbers mean nothing because our elections are winner take all.

However, I keep voting. Not because I believe that a miracle will happen, but rather so that:

  1. I can show my future relatives that I was on the right side of history
  2. In hopes that either one day the changing demographics of my state WILL make my vote count or that one day my states electors will be decided by the percentage of the vote
  3. I want to have the right to complain.

So im gonna keep trying to get this state to go blue no matter what! Hope springs eternal after all.

local areas take time, but eventually...

One of the reasons Hillary is great is Texas.
She can turn it blue, and Texas already has had one great woman (Ann Richards) and another (Kay) in top jobs
and in the comfort of the voting booth, with no one looking, Hillary can have a massive victory Nov.16.

5. No congress that works for the people

without campaign finance reform.
No campaign finance reform without a congress that works for the people.

Solve that, then try to direct the 99% on what to do.

We need to make it embarrassing - no, worse, political suicide - to take any money from corporations.
