"Could a greater miracle take place...

Than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant."
Henry David Thoreau

Go to Cleveland Clinic website or youtube and search for the Cleveland clinic empathy video. It is very powerful, very moving. ( Have tissues handy.)

I've worked in healthcare since 1979 and am as guilty as others for becoming thick-skinned and somewhat, I hate to say, un-empathetic at times. This video made me rethink AGAIN why I do what I do.

to Critical Care. He had gotten turned around. You could see he was emotionally spent. As we walked to his wife's room he said in a breaking voice: " She had a stroke last night. I don't know what to do, I'm afraid she'll die."

When I saw the video, I flashed back to this scared man in critical care and his beloved wife. Also, 10 years ago I had to be with my brother and sister in law as their 16 year old boy was on life support in the Intensive Care Unit due to a car accident...they had to pull the plug...16 damn years old. I felt compelled to share the video.
