MSNBC sure did a shitty job over covering the Nerd ball yesterday.

They talk over the speakers and totally missed the toast to the President. I'm not sure if they missed the tape up, but it was so bad at this point I turned it off.

my 2 cents.

He started off funny for the first 5 minutes, then the self absorption started showed itself for the rest of his speech up until he got serious prior to the farewell. I thought the end of his speech was excellent.

Are you unaware that his job at the WHCD is to poke fun at himself? That's the whole freeking point.

Politicians and the press stroking each other stopped being news 30 years ago.

Obama had the better writers, I think.

CNN did the same thing at the beginning. They initially were covering the toast the went back to the commentary while it continued.

I hope you get a chance to see Obama's and Conan's bits.

They always think what they have to say it more important that actually hearing it first hand from the speakers. Ugh!

I heard one of Obama's 'jokes' which as usual was about how funny it is that he is/was a pot smoker who now locks up pot smokers. See, it's charming when he does it, a felony when others do it.
Mel Brooks said 'Tragedy is when I cut my finger, comedy is when you fall down an open sewer and die'
Obama says 'Tragedy is when I run out of pot, comedy is when you are arrested for having some'.
It is difficult for those of very high status to be funny, I'll give him that. But hypocrisy is only humorous to the hypocrite, that's wisdom.

Never has any POTUS done a stand-up with such truth loaded into the laughter. Sheldon Adelson? OMG And CNN was burned beyond recognition. This wasn't a lovefest, it was a come-to-Jesus. And remember, millions of Americans smoked pot in College and moved on. I guess you think he really isn't the young strapping Muslin Socialist he used to be!

As I said, I heard the one 'joke' which was upside down and rather ugly. 'When I do it, it is funny, when other do it, I have them arrested'. Not funny to me. You think that's funny, more power to you. I'm glad someone finds the racist arrest and detention of tens of thousands of Americans as funny. Clearly Obama thinks it is funny. That's his taste. Rich guy taste. 'It's funny when we commit crimes we arrest the lesser people for! Laugh with me!'.

Are you referring to the "buzzfeed" joke?

I thought the Daniel Day Lewis bit was hysterical and cleverly written.
