not even a little bit. No no no we are afraid of the big bad NRA and their millions of gunbots.
There is no point in debating this shit, none.
We have no say. And those that think debating this is healthy well, I've got better things to do with my time.
Those who hold precious dear think we care about this debate with them, and they try again and again, even when you tell them you aren't interested, to keep spewing shit. So there is no point in talking to them, period.
We may as well talk about kitties.
Fuck the gun debate. . Life is too short to waste my time over this.

(44 posts)90% of America did not speak. This 90% number the media, the senators and the president keep repeating is from a poll surveying 1,772 people. Not 90% of the entire United States population.

(44 posts)explain to me how taking 90% of a very small sample group and extrapolating that to represent 90% of 300 million people is accurate.

(39,191 posts)And how many were they 1,000,000? 2,000,000? More? And how many more people voted for Democrats over Republicans in the Congress? Are those small groups important?
We win, go pound your bullshit elsewhere.
And you made my point for me, precious.

(44 posts)which, exactly? That YOU don't understand how statistics work, or that misrepresenting a population with a small sample size is disingenuous?
Salviati
(6,008 posts)do you really think that when they want what the public thinks on an issue that they call 300 million people and ask them what they each think?

(6,342 posts)Elected representatives are supposed to vote on what the people want who they represent. Their votes are not supposed to depend on public opinion polls of the entire nation as a whole.

(37,648 posts)was how important that was to the people. To me it's important. But is that important to everyone who answered that poll?
We'll see in the next elections. My guess is that the Republicans who were in favor of the gun control will STILL vote for anti-gun control Republicans. That's why Republicans win elections. They vote for their party, no matter what. Nothing is as important to them as taxes?
