I was wrong

I'm happy to admit that I was wrong about President Obama and Planned Parenthood.

He deserves credit for standing up for abortion rights. In this time, when there's a deafening silence from Democrats in the House and Senate on a woman's right to choose whether to bear or child or terminate a pregnancy, President Obama stood up and I'm grateful to him for doing so.

In state after state, abortion rights have been diminished to the vanishing point. And that's not an overstatement, it's a fact. We are closer to losing the battle for abortion rights than at any time since Roe was decided.

So I was wrong and too hasty, and I thank the President for standing up.

1. They should make guns as hard to get as an abortion. Both are equal in the constitution.

Of course, being that they have made abortions so rare, that in essence is what should be done for guns.

And they should have nationwide protests outside gun sellers/stores/shows/dealers like they do to women's clinics

And it goes without saying, Plan B should be next to the candy and available to all ages.
(This is NOT satire).
If a person cannot trust their parent, then they need to trust themselves and be able to obtain it.
I trust my kids to do the right thing when we are not around.
If they are wise enough to seek Plan B then I do not wish a moment to be wasted and
some evangelistic pharmacist should NOT have the right to interfere with their or my wishes that they be able to instantly obtain Plan B.

Guns and Abortions.
If one is going to compare the two, than make guns as hard to get.

And you know those people who stand outside woman's clinics?
I think there should be 100 people for each person who stands outside a woman's clinics, standing outside gun dealers, gun shows and gun manufactures.
after all-SCOTUS said it is their first amendment right.
And that includes individuals making lists of people who buy guns and taking notes and pictures.

Let's have guns be something that are so rare, only those in law enforcement,
and the National (Militia) Guard can have.

There should be heavy legal barriers to gun ownership.

Anyone who wants one should be able to have a first or second trimester abortion for the asking, pretty much no questions asked, no charge.

5. I would ban 100% all guns/bullets from a private person

it is sick the way the NRA is now using abortion, women, children, Gays, minorities as shields.
The NRA is a terror org. and should be classified under the war on terror as such.

IMHO
of course, I am nobody so I can't snap my fingers.

As long as they are...

remember something-
they want to use the issue to make ALL 50 states equal, therefore getting rid of NY and NJ and ILl and California's strict rules.

Using abortions as shields to make the issue to their angle.

That is what the reciprical NRA want was doing in the poison pen.

Myself, I will not let that go unsaid.

Which is why I thank God every minute that the 60 is in place and not the 50.
Harry Reid and Barack Obama are genius personified.
I applaud them and not be sleighted of hand.

6. I am thankful for small mercies. and that YOU can't run your disgusting ideal totalitarian

state, is a small mercy.

In your ideal state, children would rat out parents.

Here's a quote you'll hate:

"If I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country"

10. They throw around the totalitarian and authoritarian words
Sat Apr 27, 2013, 10:15 AM

and seem to not realize both FDR and Teddy Roosevelt were authoritarians who used the bully pulpit

and they seem to want President Obama to be one and assume he is not, but if he is, they say he is and then complain he is one.

Seems the 80-20 applies more and more.
Because President Obama and the Clinton's can not win with their logic in anything they do.

(so I guess they want Jeb Bush like they wanted 41 and 43 and Reagan??? I just don't understand?

11. so no private citizen in the UK can own a bullet or a gun?

Of course they can. I support gun control. I do not support the constantly totalitarian dog shit that the poster I responded to, posts- and not just about gun control. see the difference?

9. The NRA is betraying the country and my 1st amendment rights. The NRA is a terror org.

The Unibombers parents ratted out their son.And Rightly so. Bravo to them.

Plan B can prevent many abortions.
A bow and arrow can be used to replace guns to hunt, stamps can be used to replace guns as hobbies, and for sport, I play mini-golf and I get a club/ball and return them afterward(though some steal the ball and don't play the 18th. But golfballs are not WMDs like guns are.

More condoms and Plan B for everyone. Schools should hand both out.
Let's stockpile both. And get rid of guns.

Guns kill and take away a woman's right to choice. Just ask Dr. Tiller, a kind meek man who was in a church of all places when the rightwing political extreme ended it for women in Kansas with one shot.

Thanks for that. And to keep things on thread, it is a disgrace the way state after state has diminished a woman's right to control her own body. I personally don't like abortion, and as a nurse have been a part of them. Never refused to do that, as the woman has the perfect right to make that very tough decision.

Hard to believe there are people on her who actually believe that.

LOL j/k, no it isn't.

I agree, Obama has stood up for our right to choose while too many other Dems duck the issue. Cowards.
