Bar none.

Habitat for humanity, taking care of those least served.

No fancy speeches, no bullshit, just working for the poor and loving it.

A truly great man.

6. President Jimmy Carter Discusses Humanitarianism and Peace

http://www.lafayette.edu/about/news/2013/04/23/president-jimmy-carter-humanitarianism-peace/
<snip>
The renowned diplomatic scholar launched an annual Lafayette lecture series in international affairs that he endowed with his wife, Margy. He introduced the first guest speaker, Jimmy Carter, the former president and his former boss. The two ambassadors discussed their global humanitarian campaign on the campus where Pastor started becoming a global citizen. And they strengthened their friendship just 12 days after a cancerous tumor was removed from Pastor’s brain.
President Jimmy Carter shakes hands with Robert Pastor ’69 to thank him for his introductory remarks as Pastor's son, Kip, helps him stand.

This rare alliance took place on a covered stage by Pardee Hall, where Pastor studied world history. Pastor opened the program by describing Carter as a bravely visionary president, an evolution he witnessed as Carter’s national security adviser on Latin America and the Caribbean. He spoke from a wheelchair, his son, Kip, kneeling as he held the pages of his father’s speech, so they wouldn’t scatter in the wind

Notice how all the scumbag hacks who want nice thing said about Bush have never had a decent word for Jimmy Carter

We don't know how second term would have turned out...given the influence of the PTB...who worked against him first term. But, yeah in retrospect...he is "Respected" by many of his supporters and I think amongst SOME who are still honest in the Global Partnerships who are still alive.

Hey...good to see you...

That hostage crap in 79 or whatever was such BULLSHIT and it has been nothing but downhill since then.

And, sorry Skinner, even the Clinton admin.

Unsustainable goodness and the risk of long term safety for our working class.

Fuck that.

26. That is what happens when the democratic party fractures like it did in 1980.

Had Ted and Jimmy come together (possibly ditching Mondale and Ted been VP
Had that stupid 3rd party run of John Anderson not happened(he got 7%)
Had the public not been so stupid to fall for a Gotcha pre-scripted line the actor read in the debate

it could have been.

Everytime the party fractures, like 1968, like 1980, like 2000 the democratic party loses.
Winning=seated.

What good did protests ever do but get us Nixon, Bush, Bush, Ford and even in the court,
stopping Bork ended up coming back to bite us big time, as it now is impossible to get even lower court appointments done because of that.

Maybe the rule should be just let the President in office do what they do,
and vote straight democratic ticket (unless there is no democratic candidate then and only then the one who caucus' and is the 60th vote(like Bernie).

Seems in retrospect, since people ditched Adlai for Reagan1, (Eisenhower), the democratic party could have held the presidency easily for 80plus years now.

In fighting fracture messed that up each and every time.

Think of how great this nation might have been without
Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush41, Bush43

and think of how bad it could be if Jeb becomes 45 instead of Hillary.

Us true democratic voters are too smart for our own good.
And they call the Bush's stupid.
In the end, we are the stupid ones.

Smart is not making that stupid mistake again like was done in 1952,1968,1972,1980,1984,1988,2000,2004.
(and yeah, again, winning=being seated. Without being seated, nothing was won).

Jr's faces when Big Dawg was speaking were hilarious, and telling. Poppy adores Bubba, probably more than he admires his own son. And Jr. knows it. He looked like he was sitting on broken glass shards when Bubba was on stage.

Still.... he's done better in his life since ...unlike Reagan, Poppy Bush, Clinton, Bush II for working for Betterment of HUMANKIND.

He is an EXCEPTIONAL person, and even though I wasn't around when he was President, regardless of what the right-wing hacks say about him as they elevate Ronnie into Sainthood, he seemed like a decent President, especially considering what was going on at the time.
