Solution to the Air Traffic Controller Furloughs

I think I figured out how to deal with those furloughs that are causing flight delays:

Simply furlough all ATCs at the following airports:

DCA - Washington National
IAD - Dulles International
BWI - Baltimore Washington International

This will stop the entire Congress from travelling, forcing them to do something about this.

1. You are forgetting about all the people who live around there and depend on those airports.

And I agree with him. Someone can tell them that, "sorry due to limitations we cannot let you board the plane senator until you do your job."

I'm sure that would go over smoothly.

and reserve the seats on the planes for people who are not members of congress. Let them take Greyhound.

2. Better yet, send them around the country to under-staffed ATC towers

so nobody loses their job. I do like the idea of stranding Congress in D.C. until they get off their dead rear ends and do something.

Many of them--living off the taxpayer--have not had the opportunity to experience "work" firsthand.

Edited to convert from word salad to English.

He's worked in D.C. almost his entire adult life. Dude needs to get a real job instead of trying to take away from everybody else.

4. I'd go farther: Shut down the airports in all the red states.

Seriously, I suspect that Airline Execs will be on the phone to whichever congresscritters they keep in their wallet, once this starts affecting profits.

At my workplace--a very major and very right-wing DoD contractor--the don't travel if you don't absolutely have to email went out this morning. That impedes the business; undoubtedly complaints have already been lodged.
