With another Sen leaving, I hope the DNC knows that 2014 will be yr of women candidates.

Women are the only ones the public will elect.

DNC get off your duff and start finding candidates for all these open slots. The next 6-8 pickup senate seats will be women, hopefully with a D after their name/state.

2. I hope so. We currently have only 20 female U.S. Senators (16 dems & 4 gopers). We need many more!

3. How do you feel about the attempt to draft Brian Schweitzer to run for Max Baucus' seat?

I contributed to the Draft Schweitzer Fund on ActBlue. Do you see him as a viable candidate? Do you have a different one in mind?

Off yr usually have only 8-15% turnout and I think women will control the vote.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I very much don't expect to be.

Chris Murphy defeated Linda McMahon
Bill Nelson defeated Connie Mack
Angus King defeated Cynthia Dill
Dean Heller defeated Shelley Berkley
Martin Heinrich defeated Heather Wilson

Women did well in 2012 - Tammy Baldwin, Diane Feinstein, Amy Klobuchar, Claire McCaskill, Deb Fischer, Debbie Stabenow, Elizabeth Warren, Mazie Hirono, Maria Cantwell, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Heidi Heitkamp winning sometimes against female opponents, but it is hardly true that "women are the only ones the public will elect. Plenty of men were elected too, like I listed, sometimes against female opponents.

And the off-year 2010 was no different. John Boozman defeated Blanche Lincoln, McMahon lost again to Richard Blumenthal, Chris Coons defeated Chris O'Donnell, Chuck Grassley defeated Roxanne Conlin, Jerry Moran defeated Lisa Johnston, Roy Blunt defeated Robin Carnahan, Harry Reid defeated Sharon Angle, and Richard Burr defeated Elaine Marshall. The woman candidate does not always win.

11. MacMahon was no loss for women. She deserved to get beaten twice, despite her $$$.

She was as vile as any other vile republican. I took great pleasure, as a woman, to vote for her opponents two races in a row: first, Dick Blumenthal, a real friend of women, and Chris Murphy, also a true friend of women and a rising star.

because I am a woman, I would vote my gender. I like to hear what a candidate has to say before I make up my mind.
