F**k me, but I can't buy this excuse/reason from Tsarnaev

. . . here's another bomber/attacker claiming to be protesting against U.S. violence. Just check yourself, dude . . .

Boston bombing suspect cites U.S. wars as motivation, officials say

The 19-year-old suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings has told interrogators that the American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan motivated him and his brother to carry out the attack, according to U.S. officials familiar with the interviews.

From his hospital bed, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has acknowledged his role in planting the explosives near the marathon finish line on April 15, the officials said. The first successful large-scale bombing in the post-Sept. 11, 2001, era, the Boston attack killed three people and wounded more than 250 others.

"Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has specifically cited the U.S. war in Iraq, which ended in December 2011 with the removal of the last American forces, and the war in Afghanistan, where President Obama plans to end combat operations by the end of 2014."

. . . an Afghan; someone who grew up in the ME; someone with even a tangential connection to Iraq, Afghanistan, or anywhere else the U.S. is militarily engaged? That's where I'd expect to find the type of vengeance-seeking/war-protesting violence that Tsarnaev's trying to wrap himself in. This newly naturalized U.S. citizen who grew up in America can't claim to be so associated with those conflicts to avenge them. It looks like he's making a self-serving excuse for his own self-serving destruction.

Sad thing is, it looks like most of his thinking was just as scrambled and contradictory as this reported dodge. It's ignorance and self interest - coupled with an utter disregard for human lives - which appears to be what motivated the Tsarnaev brothers.

"Crimes against Islam, defaming the prophet, war in Afghanistan and Iraq."

They sure as shit weren't terribly disturbed back in 2007. Or 2008. Or 2009.

We withdrew from Iraq by the time the dead terrorist had gone off the deep end.

He confessed to planting the bombs? No kidding. He's on video doing so. No point in lying about that.

But by discussing motives, or by saying he and his brother acted alone? He may just be protecting others.

We won't know until the investigators have actually had time to, you know...investigate.

you'd suffer retaliation until at least 2030 and as such its not that surprising.

German soldiers had "Gott mit uns" on their belt buckles when they were killing millions in WWII.

and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq...

Here's one (there are more if you want to google, I'm simply listing the first one that comes up)'

"One of the brothers' neighbors, Albrecht Ammon, said he had a bizarre encounter with Tamerlan in a pizza shop about three months ago. The older brother argued with him about U.S. foreign policy, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and religion."

Since even someone from Afghanistan and affected by it would have no excuse for the bombing. It's not an excuse that works. There is none. Bet they didn't protest the wars the normal way, like attending a march or writing to a congressman.

for one thing. He's bullshitting. He probably sees that he has an opening with certain people feeling sorry for him and plans to exploit it as much as possible.

The "reasons" are that they are angry and have no self-control. Sorry, but I am cynical about this. Someone did not teach these kids/people to follow the rules and respect others. Same about everyone in Al Qaeda or violent extremist groups.
