Another bad sign for iPhone sales: LG Display profit misses expectations

http://news.yahoo.com/another-bad-sign-iphone-sales-lg-display-profit-001549760.html

Another day, another key Apple supplier posting disappointing earnings. Per Reuters, iPhone and iPad display supplier LG Display has posted a 74% quarterly drop in earnings, thus adding to worries that “demand for iPhone and iPad screens weakened amid concerns that Apple was losing its luster in the mobile device market.” Apple devices account for roughly 30% of LG Display’s overall revenues, so it’s likely that at least some of LG Display’s drop in earnings can be attributed to substandard iPhone sales. iPhone audio chip supplier Cirrus Logic and iPhone manufacturer Foxconn both recently also posted disappointing earnings that were reportedly at least partially due to lackluster iPhone sales.

Apple products aren't advancing enough to warrant exchanging up and frankly they last forever.

Where are the new products? Where is the TV or the wrist watch thing.

Tim Cook is no innovator. He's a get the thing done guy but he needs someone to tell him what it is to produce and to get on his company to move faster.

Everyone who can get a smartphone or wants a smartphone has one by now. All of the US carriers offer the iPhone, the only play is in certain foreign countries or some changes in form (cheaper or bigger).

The iPhone is a unique animal though. If there is some major change....folks will come to buy. The iPhone 5 wasn't that different from what the iPhone 4S offered except for a slight change in form, the ability to use LTE and a better camera. It still smoked everything everyone else offered in terms of sales.
