Search area to small?

NASHUA - The boat where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was hiding during Friday's massive manhunt was between 100 and 200 yards outside of the search area in Watertown, Mass., where the Nashua Police Department's Special Reaction Team had been deployed to assist local authorities. Twenty-five police officers from the city - part of the Special Reaction Team and Hazardous Device Unit - went to Watertown on Friday to help locate one of two suspects in the Boston bombings that killed three people and injured nearly 200 on Monday

I read somewhere he was hiding 5 blocks away from the shooting incident

Or this just the search area of this unit?

They should have just sat tight and waited for some citizen to call 911 to tell them where he was.

I heard the Watertown Police Chief say they found blood in the back of a yard (elsewhere) so they knew the suspect had been at that spot in the yard.

They may have set up the search area based on that. I did hear people say they did not search their street, so I don't believe the boat was previously searched.
