What should be posted on GD and what should be posted in the Lounge?

Some stuff like cat photo posts and what's your favourite song are obviously Lounge material and nothing else. But sometimes I want to post interesting stories about science or nature, or just general conversation starters and I'm not sure which I should post in. These aren't goofy, or just humorous time wasters but they aren't really political either. Where would these belong. It seems somewhat ambiguous to me.

Discuss politics, issues, and current events. No posts about Israel/Palestine, religion, guns, showbiz, or sports unless there is really big news. No conspiracy theories. No whining about DU.

They aren't totally rigid about it. I would post them and see.

For instance, you like science. DU has a great science forum and many science stories make it to GD.

If your post has a narrow focus, try the DU forums. They are pretty damned great. DU is a big place with many comfortable corners.
