Should We Be Concerned That Boston Suspects May Lead to Profiling of White Male Jocks?

We saw how 9-11 lead folks to discriminate and commit acts of violence against folks from the middle east and even indians who are hindu, rather than Muslim. During WWII, Japanese Americans were rounded up and put in concentration camps. The Newton shootings lead some folks to broadly blame folks who are on the autism spectrum because of reports that the shooter had aspergers.
Now, we have the bombing of the Bostom Marathon by two individuals who were white, athletic, and in the case of younger brother, popular in high school.

Will the Boston tragedy lead folks to unfairly discriminate against caucasian male jocks? If not, why would there be a difference and what does it say about our society?

But to answer your question, no. And you know why. White, athletic kids are not the "other", they're the ideal. No one is going to go and beat up Tom Brady because of what these two assholes did.

Using the term "heavy ethnic look" seems rather odd.

My grandmother from County Cork used to tell me that I "have the map of Ireland written all over your face." But no one since has ever accused me of having a heavy ethnic look.

They don't look like average "white" Americans (who are, for the most part, of Anglo-Saxon/Celtic/Germanic ancestry) at all. They look generally "Mediterranean" (potentially Italian/Turkish/Semitic/North African), which is pretty much "ethnic" anywhere in the USA outside of a few places on the East Coast (NY/NJ and parts of New England).
