Nate Bell, Arkansas State Lawmaker, Sends Insensitive Tweet About 'Boston Liberals'

"SNIP......................................

Arkansas State Rep. Nate Bell (R) sent out an insensitive tweet Friday morning amid breaking news surrounding the Boston bomber manhunt.

Bell brought the topic of gun control into the mix when he tweeted:

I wonder how many Boston liberals spent the night cowering in their homes wishing they had an AR-15 with a hi-capacity magazine? #2A
— Nate Bell (@NateBell4AR) April 19, 2013

The tweet comes after gun legislation failed in the Senate, when measures to improve background checks and ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines all failed.

crisis? That's interesting. Do Liberals feel happy when people were hurt in texas fertilizer plant explosion? I doubt it. And if this man was so comfortable saying this out loud, what are republicans whispering amongst themselves? Sure looks like they have a negative fire and brimstone 'narrative' for the portion of the public that don't vote like they do. And they enjoy it.

As for those calling for total disregard of the rights of the accused, I am seeing people from both sides and those who stay out of the gun debate. I am surprised by the shallow commitment to ideals some have put on display. I expect it from the conservative side; they have no ideals.

perpetrators. It is not normal for someone to be so angry with the victims or potential victims that they revel in their misery. And do a superior dance. They seem to have a whole negative narrative worked out for liberals.

for the timing of his comments. Because apparently, he's too stupid to realize that the timing wasn't the issue.

"I would like to apologize to the people of Boston & Massachusetts for the poor timing of my tweet earlier this morning. As a staunch and unwavering supporter of the individual right to self defense, I expressed my point of view without thinking of its effect on those still in time of crisis. In hindsight, given the ongoing tragedy that is still unfolding, I regret the poor choice of timing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers were with the people of Boston overnight and will continue as they recover from this tragedy."
