http://www.berkshireeagle.com/ci_23070027/marathon-bombings-manhunt-dont-add-post-newtown-gunBOSTON Despite two shootouts and a nerve-wracking, house-to-house search for a fugitive, gun sales in several New England states seemed unaffected by Monday's bombings at the Boston Marathon.
Gun store owners in the Boston area, New Hampshire and Connecticut reported that guns and ammo have been flying off the shelves ever since the Dec. 14 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., and the state and national discussions about gun control that followed.
Many shops in the Boston area were closed Saturday, or their owners declined to comment. Those that were open were quite busy, but it wasn't because of the bombings.
"Ever since Newtown, it's been very, very busy,' said a manager at Pete's Gun Shop in Adams, Mass., and he hadn't noticed an additional uptick in business this week.

Though in this case and in Boston less than a week is probably to early to correctly gauge.

...the MIT officer and the seriously injured MBTA officer were outgunned...fortunately no others were wounded but it took a literal army to subdue these killers. Meanwhile the unarmed person whose Mercedes SUV was hijacked and was held hostage for over 30 minutes was set free unharmed. My bets are had this person pulled a weapon they would be among the victims.

If it's anything in New England like it is here in the Midwest, there aren't any guns and ammo left to purchase.
