Amazing concept, huh?

(11,366 posts)5. Sorry. I'm just not that into jingoism.
But I do adore our public service workers.
Nothing wrong with that.
P.S. My husband is from Boston AND I'm not lazy (I could stand to lose about 10-15 pounds, but that's because I'm going through the change, which makes it harder to lose, even though I'm not lazy).

(14,139 posts)6. Jingoism?
extreme chauvinism or nationalism marked especially by a belligerent foreign policy
Whatever. We can do both--have pride in our country AND pay our public service workers well. It's possible to walk and chew gum at the same time, and it's possible to love one's country and be proud of it especially in its finer moments, without being jingoistic.

(11,366 posts)7. Why weren't they yelling, "Boston P.D. Boston P.D.?"
Or "FBI. FBI!"?
I'm all for cheering on heroes, but the "USA" isn't much of a hero anymore.
