Lindsey Graham, true to form
By Steve Benen
On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the Boston Marathon bombing, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) was already speaking publicly about her hopes that those responsible would be tried in military commissions.
That was before we knew much of anything about the nature of the attack or the suspects. Today, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) went quite a bit further.
The reaction from The Atlantic's David Graham rings true: Lindsey Graham "is suggesting that an American citizen, captured on American soil, should be deprived of basic constitutional rights. Keep in mind that Graham isn't just an angry citizen; he's not even just a U.S. senator. He is also a trained lawyer, a colonel in Air Force Reserve, and a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps, the legal arm of the Air Force."

This is the same guy who supports torture.
Graham: Since torture techniques have survived for about 500 years, apparently they work.
By Satyam Khanna
In todays hearing on detainee interrogations, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) attempted to defend the Bush administrations torture program. Lets have both sides of the story here, Graham declared, saying there could be evidence that torture provided good information. Graham then made the puzzling claim that since torture has been used for half a millenium, it apparently is useful:

The Vice President is suggesting that there was good information obtained, and Id like the committee to get that information. Lets have both sides of the story here. I mean, one of the reasons these techniques have survived for about 500 years is apparently they work.

"Seems the Obama administration agrees with him at liest on the Miranda issue."
...doubt that Graham's intent is this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022718319
I suspect Graham wants him thrown into Guantanamo and the torture process restarted.
