Police Confirm: Three In Custody For Questioning Based On Affiliation With Bombing Suspect

New Bedford, MA police confirm to TPM that three people have been taken into custody for questioning by the FBI based on potential affiliation with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 19 year old suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.

"FBI executed a federal search warrant this afternoon, two males and a female were taken into custody for questioning by them on the assumption that there was an affiliation with suspect number two," Lieutenant Robert Richard told TPM by phone Friday evening.

The three were taken from "off-site housing (where it's) not uncommon for U Mass students to reside," Richard said.

Tsarnaev was a student at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

FBI has not responded to inquries about whether they're seeking accomplices to the two suspects.

Last night they put a naked guy in a police car (understandably being cautious) but he was cleared. I wonder if that will be the same with this or if there is really something here.

It's my sense it was just the two of them -- everybody they knew was so surprised. Of course, my sense was that there would be no religious or political motivation for the bombing, so what do I know.
