A small voice is starting in my head

Been watching news all day and am starting to wonder why an entire city is still under lockdown for 12 hours and absolute police presence is still everywhere. Granted it is a very serious situation, but the amount of police power is overkill and very scary. If we have this to look forward to every time a single crazy decides to create havoc, the terrorists win.

It's not a lockdown. It's a "shelter in place" recommendation. No one is being arrested for going outside. No one is being held at gunpoint because they leave their houses. Christ on a crutch. The stupid is strong today.

4. Did you say this after 9/11 and the Patriot Act?

Or when they suspended Habeas Corpus for 8 years?

I live in the shelter-in-place area. If you want, I will go outside and walk a few miles, taking pictures of myself every so often not being arrested or otherwise having my civil liberties violated.

THIS IS VOLUNTARY.

They asked for our help. We are giving it VOLUNTARILY by staying inside.

Absolutely I want a large police presence if bad guys are in MY neighborhood. But if I was, say, a single mom who lives 35 miles away from there and can't get to work and lose pay, I would be very upset I couldn't get a bus or train. My point is an entire city is thrown into chaos when the problem is localized. Get the bad guys, but get them smartly without trampling on all our rights. Thats what terrorists want.

10. I did not make your point. The cops do not know exactly where he is.

So the should be a wide section shut down.

It doesn't take long to go 30 miles if he has a stolen car.

I'd rather lose a day or two of pay than be on the street or subway etc and be killed by stray bullets or an IED.
