Everything else is hearsay. We can't even assume they shot the MIT policeman until somebody retrieves a gun and runs ballistics tests.
The news outlets need to shut up until they have actual facts, not anonymous "tips".

(14,040 posts)and I mean just prior. As far as the MIT officer, it could have been seeing someone in uniform, being afraid he was after them or they could have been trying to plant a bomb and he came upon them... could be they just panicked.

(94,544 posts)Despite early reports tying the bombing suspects to a robbery at a convenience store in Cambridge last night ahead of a fatal shootout with police, state police told WBUR on Friday they've established that they were not involved in the robbery.

Not through Google news or the CBS News website. Ellen is on CBS TV right now, so they aren't treating anything as breaking news.
