An inflammatory abstinence-only presentation at a West Virginia high school is drawing national attention after a high school girl who spoke out publicly against it was allegedly berated to tears by the school principal.
George Washington High School Senior Katelyn Campbell filed a complaint with the ACLU after Pam Stenzel, a religious conservative abstinence-only activist, gave an inflammatory and scientifically inaccurate presentation about why students should only practice abstinence as the only way to prevent STDs and pregnancy. Campbell and other students report that Stenzel engaged in slut-shaming, suggested that any type of sex will guarantee the contraction of an STD or an unwanted pregnancy, and told girls at the assembly that if you take birth control, your mother probably hates you and I could look at any one of you in the eyes right now and tell if youre going to be promiscuous.
According to The Charleston Gazette:
In her YouTube videos, Stenzel says birth control makes a woman 10 times more likely to contract a disease . . . or end up sterile or dead. Many of the videos warn of sexually transmitted diseases and also say, Sex could damage you for the rest of your life. Sex also could lead to scarred fallopian tubes and cancer . . . and you need to ask Jesus for forgiveness. In addition, Stenzel points to anorexia, bulimia and cutting as after-effects of abortion.

School board member Jordon's husband helped bring abstinence speaker
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- People who attended Thursday's Kanawha County school board meeting to support a student who spoke out against an abstinence-only speaker at George Washington High School were outraged when school board member Becky Jordon said her husband donated money that helped pay for the controversial speaker's visit.
Andrew Jordon, owner of Pritchard Mining, made a personal donation to Believe in West Virginia, a Christian organization, which brought Pam Stenzel to speak at George Washington and Riverside high schools, Becky Jordon said.
She said when Joe Holland approached her husband, he didn't think twice about giving a donation. Holland is a member of Believe in West Virginia's board of directors.
"My husband gave him a donation. My husband believed in it. If you look around Kanawha County, my husband donates to a lot of good causes," she said. "There's a soccer field, there's a golf course, there's many things my husband has done all through this county and paid for completely."

I suggest everyone contact the school and tell them that Stenzel does not belong anywhere near a public school or public school children

As well as contact the members of the local town board

And the Superintended

I can't find any contact info for that board member Becky Jordon but make sure to mention her as well because she needs to lose her position as well. If they think they can use slut-shamming, we can use really stupid shamming.
