$50,000 reward offered by public safety unions

The city’s “outraged” public safety unions are offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the capture of the Boston Marathon bomber, officials said today.

“We will see this through,” said Tommy Nee, head of the Boston Police Patrolman’s Union. “We will find the person or persons responsible.”

Shaken fire, police, and EMS union leaders described heroic tales today of first responders who leaped into action after yesterday’s dual bombing on Boylston Street. “They stripped their personal belts off to make tourniquets, “ Nee said of emergency crews at the scene. “They saved lives.”

In addition to the reward firefighters and police set up a relief fund for the victims.

Donations can be sent to the Boston Firefighter’s Credit Union website at www.Bosfirecu.com.

And if you need more evidence of union effectiveness, just take a look at the events transpiring throughout the night and this morning in Boston. Good solid investigative work by union employees has gotten very close to solving a MAJOR crime in a matter of a few days. I am humbled and amazed by law enforcement response to this event.
