Not to politicize unduly... but this could be pretty bad for Guns

If these fellows have really only been in the USA a year (as reported, but that has become a very uncertain thing), they got those guns they were shooting somewhere.

If you see what I mean.

Come to America, buy guns, shoot people... it's a scenario the NRA has probably been dreading for a while now.

(That doesn't mean that a foreign-based terror attack wouldn't be a nightmare for a zilllion other reasons.)

People will bring up self-defense and they have a point if this plays out like it is starting to look like it might

Probably bought the guns at a gun show or online

They would say "hey, some suicidal college student" (like Sunil is supposed to be) can get enough black powder to make bombs..but no...no you will have the GOP trying to parlay this into a 2016 victory, with Hillary trying to play the "I can kill Muslims too" card.

Armed with guns looking for the criminals. I hope this does make guns look worse to more people.

Somebody who's willing to make a bomb out of a pressure cooker is also probably willing to buy a gun on the black market, n'est-ce pas?

It's easier to keep tabs on a small, nervous coterie of black marketeers than a massive network of legal unregulated gun sellers.

Pressure cooker bombs are heavy AND SEEM TO KILL FEWER HUMANS THAN SEMI-AUTOMATICS WITH 30 TO 100 ROUND CLIPS.

They killed the cop WITH A GUN.

NO GUN SELLER STOPPED THEM. Nor has any armed civilian been of any use whatsoever.

The NRA actively aids and abets terrorism against the American people.

The NRA actively aids and abets the mass murder of American children.

The US Congress actively aids and abets the NRA.

As evidenced by recent events, guns are much more deadly then bombs

let the psychos build their bombs, maybe they'll even blow themselves up in the process

NRA = domestic terrorism

The harms of guns far exceed the beneficial uses.

Regarding the black market, the NRA likes to act like the black market is a fixed thing that is unaffected by policy. Not so. A major benefit of laws like background checks or registries is to reduce the ease with which guns get diverted to the black market in the first place.

It's not quite as simple as just "buy a gun on the black market". Buying a gun illegally is more difficult and more risky than just buying a gun anonymously with no background check from the internet or a gun show. The more difficult you make it for criminals to buy guns, the less gun crimes you have.
