Police bomb experts blow up package outside Tacoma Planned Parenthood

Tacoma police bomb experts are investigating a package that appears to be a backpack and refrigerator outside the Planned Parenthood clinic at 813 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, according to police spokeswoman Loretta Cool.

“Instead of taking chances, obviously with what’s going on in today’s world, we are conducting an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) call out,” Cool said. “They’re inspecting it, they might x-ray it.”

She said she believed officers had evacuated everyone from the building.

12. Here's a stupid question....

Does a robot "have" to explode it with it's own explosive? Why wouldn't they just have the robot move it or tear it open or just mess with it to see what it is? If it explodes on it's own then it's done. I just don't see the point in adding explosives to detonate explosives... if it ends up being explosives.
