Citizens United II (The Sequel)?! It's coming...
From an email I just received:
I've got bad news and good news about the Supreme Court and corporate power.
The bad news is that Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia are about to double down on Citizens United.
That's right, the Supreme Court is about to consider a case, McCutcheon vs. FEC, which could make our electoral system even more screwed-up. Contribution limits for corporations and the ultra-rich would become virtually meaningless - with conceivably millions of dollars given in a single donation.
The good news?
We can stop them. By doing what we did before their ruling on Obamacare: make BIG NOISE that puts their decision under a magnifying glass. This Supreme Court doesn't like defending itself in public. Because their radically corporatist plutocratic right-wing rulings do not stand up to scrutiny.
