Thank You, First Responders

Statement from Massachusetts AFL-CIO State Fed President Steven Tolman on the Boston Marathon Tragedy

Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the entire Massachusetts AFL-CIO family, our affiliates and our members, I send our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives or were seriously injured during yesterday's tragedy at the Boston Marathon. I also want to send our sincerest gratitude to all the first responders, fire fighters, police, EMS, volunteers and others who rushed to the aid of the injured and the countless nurses and doctors who continue to care for our citizens. In the face of such heartache, the heroism and sacrifice of our union members and all those who leapt to action inspires us all.

We stand united as a city, a Commonwealth and a labor movement as we mourn the victims and offer our full support to their loved ones.

In Solidarity,

Steven Tolman, President

But can't we express gratitude without also mentioning the basic job requirements?
