A recent episode of the animated comedy "Family Guy" included a scene in which the show's main character committed mass murder at the Boston Marathon, prompting Fox to pull the episode from its website and Hulu in light of this week's deadly bombing at the race, CBS News reported.
The scene showed the character Peter Griffin telling sportscaster Bob Costas about his performance in the marathon, leading to a flashback showing the protagonist clipping runners with his car.
"I'll tell ya, Bob, I just got in my car and drove it," Griffin said in the episode. "And when there was a guy in my way, I killed him."
In the same episode, Griffin became acquainted with a terrorist and unwittingly blew up a bridge after using his cellphone. The epsiode originally aired March 17.
A selectively edited clip surfaced on the web giving the impression that Griffin triggered the explosion at the marathon. Seth MacFarlane, the show's creator, took to Twitter on Tuesday to call the edited clip "abhorrent."
