My wife reminded me: "I got 98% of what I wanted"

I realize some of you are going to flame me and I am probably risking my account by posting this but I need to speak my mind on this issue.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=454861

For those of you who complained that some of us on the board got upset and spoke out about the chained CPI issue this is in part why. History has once again repeated itself when it comes the Obama Administration and the compromised

and I bring this you tube reminder: Fast forward to the 2:00 minute mark this is what my wife groaned when she read the Democratic Underground thread listed above.

This is what we who spoke out against the chained CPI knew would be the next step.

AND just because I or my wife OR anyone who spoke out against the chain CPI issue does not mean we do not support President Obama as we come together on the Boston Tragedy but we can still speak out and try and protect Social Security/Medicaid/Medicare and social programs that help people and yet come together to support President Obama in bringing people to justice.

1. CCPI has no possibility of getting past the Senate.

I doubt it will get through the House. As much as I think it is a non-issue, I will protest vigorously and loudly against it should some bizarre chain of circumstances occur where it might be put into place.

In the meantime, the budget proposal is out there and complaining about it serves no purpose. Let your Reps and the WH know your views.

Dems and those few republicans that really do oppose this idea fall in line and this budget will pass. I will gladly eat my words if I am wrong.

That the Senate will absoultely refuse to pass it, but I am afraid we will hear soon, "well this is the best that we could get, we have to end the sequester, and well you know shared sacrafice" Yadda, Yadda, Yadda and all that crap.

I sure hope some Dems will Fillibuster. I am afraid that is the only chance that we have to squash this at all or at least slow it down.

5. No, it's not a non-issue. Obama has made it commonplace to speak of cutting SS now.

As he has been doing since having been elected. It used to be unmentionable, even as recent as GWB's admin. But now it's not a shocker any more since a Dem POTUS has brought it up many times and even put it into his own budget. It's squarely on the table for discussion now and if you don't think the Cons are going to continue going after it now... well you know they are.
