Still Lazy after all these years

Half Of America Still Lazy According To Republican Congressman (VIDEO)
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/04/15/gop-congressman-forgets-poll-taxes-unconstitutional/

Alienating voters? You’re doing it right, Republican Party. Rep. Rob Woodall (R-Ga.) opened his pie hole and illustrated once again what the Republican Party really thinks of poor and working class Americans.

“You know, folks mock Mitt Romney for what he said, but he’s right. Forty-seven percent of American citizens pay zero in income taxes. It’s just true,” Woodall said, according to remarks recorded by Georgia Fair Share. ”In fact, the bottom 30% of American citizens profit from the tax code because they’re getting refundable tax credits back,” Woodall says in the video. “I don’t care if you’re paying a dollar. You need to believe that you are involved in the process, and you need to have skin in the game.”

Woodall also added to incredibly asinine statement and said that citizens must pay taxes if they wish to participate in politics. So in his mind, it’s not enough to be born American, you must also PAY if you want to have a say in how the country is run. That sounds a lot like an unconstitutional poll tax to me. That’s rich coming from the party that supposedly holds the Constitution in such high regard. Does this also apply to the 22% of the population that are senior citizens living on social security? Do they lose their unalienable right to vote as American citizens? Does his logic apply to the multi-billion dollar corporations that do everything in their power to evade federal taxes? Oh, no of course not!! I must be insane! It only applies to poor Americans, silly.

Anyone who works for a paycheck pays Social Security and Medicare taxes. Poor people also usually pay state income taxes even if they don't pay Federal income taxes, and if they have any property, they usually have to pay property taxes. In most states, they also have to pay sales taxes every time they go shopping, and taxes for gasoline, as well as utility surcharges that are taxes under a different name.
