Question: What to do with the perp(s)?

Ok, let's say the cops find the perp or perps of the Boston bombing.

What would you do with them?

I would lock them up for 24 hours a day, and have pictures of their victims on the walls where they can't be taken down.

Rules of evidence. All the rights accorded you and me under American justice. Everything true and honest and by the books.

It would be nice to show the world American justice at its best, after the way our notorious assassinations have been prosecuted.

Only info the public sees in written by court reporters and no pictures whatsoever of the perps. They disappear from public view forever.

If they're found guilty, hold transparent, fair and open sentencing hearings.

Apply the sentence imposed in accordance with US law.

Any other course of action is to demean ourselves and the Constitution.

Why show them symbols of their success? People that do this sort of thing do not care about their victims. All you're doing is giving them jerkoff material.

What to do with them? Kill them.

Hmm, Make a statement in Boston, on tax day, by bombing people. Now what kind of sick individuals would set off a bomb in the same town that is known for it's tea party on a day designated as tax day? Yeah well, I won't say it... I don't like to accuse... They WILL be caught, and all I can say is... you can bet your replenished tree of liberty it won't come as any surprise. Word on the blogsphere, is some individuals are mad because the President called it a tragedy and not an act of terror. I'm guessing once they catch the individual(s) involved, then they'll be mad the the White House called it terrorism and think that it should just be labeled a tragedy. Maybe I'm wrong on who I suspect... but, odds are... I'm not.

So what to do with the perps? Easy.... just repeat OVER AND OVER AND OVER not just who they are.... but what they and their ilk, stand for and believe in, and what their beliefs led to..... Pain and suffering to America.

What about the accusations about who was responsible for the shootings of state attorneys in Texas before it was determined than perp was a recently fired employee.

Put them on trial. Make sure they have every available opportunity to adequately defend themselves. I want every rule followed. I want everything done to make sure they get a fair and public trial.

I want there to be no doubt that they are guilty of their crimes.

Then I want them locked up for as long as the law allows. If it's a life sentence, I want them to have the best health care available so that they will live for decades in prison. Every day must be a long and they will know that another one will follow.

Anything less will be too easy.

Provide them with notice of the charges on which they are being held; provide the defense with notice of all witnesses and evidence to be used; provide compulsory process for obtaining evidence and witnesses; be permitted to confront their accuser; challenge evidence and cross examine witnesses; and be judged by an impartial jury.

After that, I expect them to be protected from cruel and unusual punishment.

That's what I think should be done with them.

at the picture of the 8 year old boy who was killed.

I have an 8 year old grandson. I can't even imagine something like that happening to him.

Had I not seen that photo...seen the actual kid...I might have been able to be a bit more philosophical about what sort of punishment I think is appropriate.

At this point, I can't think much beyond putting whoever did this in prison where little by little his legs are chopped off. No anesthetic. To match the injuries most of his victims suffered.

Then let him live the rest of his life behind bars in a fucking wheelchair.

I'm sorry, but that is the best I can do right now.
