Boston Police Comm. confirmed 3 dead, via Twitter
Twitter quotes several sources of the # injured.
and
Breaking: Officials found what they believe are five additional, undetonated explosive devices in Boston area.

between the buildings and those artificial barriers, the wood slat fences, so they were forced to bunch up instead of spreading and easily moving around.
The marathon used to be run with no spectator fences, and no one interferred with the race all that time.

Five pounds of gelignite in a backpack or a purse at ground level would have similar results. Did, in Belfast in the 70s.

Unless all the dogs could only detect drugs and not bombs....
