I wish everyone victimized by this act of terror the best possible outcomes.
The events were horrible. The bombing was an act of terror, no matter who the perp of what the motives.
I support law enforcement doing everything they can to bring to justice those involved . . . . except for the abridgment of our rights.
Our pattern has been to close whatever open door such an event appears to have exploited.
Meanwhile, the individual rights alleged under the 2nd Amendment remain sacrosanct.

(48,181 posts)He's covered what to expect when the next 9-11 happens several times, and it ain't going to be pretty. We will once again grossly overreact. There isnt much left between us and an outright police state. This could be that event. The injured are now over 100, more will die.

I suppose they can find enough military/indusrial budget to expand TSA to the streets for "random pat-downs" of citizens everywhere, papers need for internal travel, etc.

(36,462 posts)as they stick it to our 4th & 5th Amendment rights.
They will find a way to create some new department & pump a ton of money into it. Cronies|families|friends will make a fortune, draining the Treasury with inflated & questionable charges, while cutting the social safety net for the rest of us.
Our government is corrupt & compromised to the core. I have no faith in it at all & voting for the lesser of two evils isn't working. I seriously have no idea what I'm going to do in 2014.

(20,776 posts)showed that we lost some of our constitutional rights.. I have no doubt this event will contribute to the further decline of our rights. Nothing will ever be right again.
