Snip: Runner Heather Judy knew exactly what she heard when explosions rocked the Boston Marathon as she neared the finish line Monday.

Judy, 29, served eight months as a sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq

“I knew what it was, but I didn't know where it was,'' she said.

Judy was with a group of other runners when the explosions rocked the downtown. She was about a half mile from the final turn under a highway viaduct onto Boylston Street and the stretch run to the finish.
