Well, WHO in the hell else comes to mind immediately. Let's see: Hates taxes, wears stupid clothing

with tea bags on their hats and crap....dress up like some deranged Paul Reveres....threaten "a revoluuu shun!" constantly.

Seriously?

And DUer's are now saying, "why...how could you jump to conclusions?"

I don't know if the bomber is a TeaNut or not...but, come on: "How could you jump to conclusions?"

Gimme a damned break.

I wrote "it's obvious why people are thinking this."

Furthermore, I doubt any detectives from the Boston area are even REMOTELY interested in my opinion, so I could speculate if I were in the mood too.

A domestic right winger would bomb a government building or some type of link to the government or an abortion clinic or something like that. Right wingers target specific places because the government is what he's angry at.

An international terrorist typically wants to cause mass casualties, target public events, and will target civilians.
The fact also that multiple bombs were found is a trademark of Al-Queda. That organization loves to have successive bombings one after each other. They've been doing that for decades.
There is also reports that there are ball-bearings used in these explosives. These are very typical of IEDs found in Iraq and designed to cause as many casualties as possible. They are designed to kill people, not bomb buildings.

I dont know who this terrorist is...no one does right now. But we should calm down and not jump to conclusions. We don't have all the facts.

Islamist attacks tend not to be this crude, they usually go for buildings. I've never heard of an al-Qaeda attack like this, they'd try to bring a building down, or attack a large crowd, not people dispersed in a marathon.

Really the evidence points toward right wing extremists...and possibly white supremacists. We can't rule out some small isolated al-Qaeda wannabe group or individual, but the (admittedly quite limited) evidence so far clearly points toward one type of group.

I guess we are going to have to wait for the bomb experts to weigh in.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

On edit: Patriots day is a big deal in MA. It is a state holiday. Banks close etc. Lots of re-enactments of various historical events. Lots of costumes and period dress etc. etc. It's actually quite interesting and my sense is that most of these people are quite harmless - just having fun and reliving history.

I suspect, that someone is capitalizing on the significance and events of the day. Perhaps knowing, expecting and planning on the tensions of the day bubbling out. Then just sitting back and waiting for the lynchings to begin.

Whatever the reason is, there's always a defined reason.

Anti-tax and anti-government...and it's tax day...so let's bomb the finish line of a marathon!

Add the location, the timing, the city, and the event, and it doesn't point to anyone specific. It could be the next McVeigh, but at the same time, the variables in the equation are sort of all over the place.
