(43,182 posts)Unfortunately, it's way too easy for some mental defect to obtain a gun and shoot up a crowd for reasons only he knows.
But with bombs, that takes careful planning and preparation. The bomb must be assembled. This often indicates some "greater cause" the perpetrator is advocating, whatever it might be (and we just don't know right now).

And I'm betting that right-wing extremists are responsible for this.

(21,925 posts)COULD be a place to start looking. But I agree with the OP that we shouldn't immediately accept what our political inclinations tell us without proof. Look at how the right wing immediately suspected Arab terrorists when Timothy McVeigh set off his bomb. We don't want to be like them (although I know what my own inner voice is telling me).
