5. It doesn't have to be about causes: it's a big holiday where people are out and about

If you don't live in Massachusetts, and especially the greater Boston area, you may not know that this is a state holiday; schools are closed; and many people are outside. It's not just a "name" holiday for symbolic purposes. People are really into activities: not just going to see the Marathon, but also going to historical reenactments in Lexington and Concord and Minuteman National Park.

To comment that it's Patriot's Day is to comment about the number of places where people might be gathered today ... and thus possibly in danger from what is now confirmed to be IEDs.

We have *no idea* yet what this about, but that's where my mind goes...

Often these things are planned with these sorta symbolic things in mind.

Only time will tell. Well, time will tell something and hopefully it will be the truth, whatever it is.

JFK library, my money is solidly on domestic RW terrorism.

They have threatened and threatened and threatened and threatened and threatened. And they have bombed and bombed and bombed and bombed and bombed.

This doesn't take a rocket scientist.

It was a mechanical fire, and it has been confirmed that it was not related to the other events at all. Which is a good thing.

ON EDIT: Police commissioner says it was an explosion, connected; now other reports saying not again. Really, it's just too soon to tell.

so can I pick North Korea in the pool?

The knee jerk speculating who we have to "go get" is ridiculous.

Donate blood, hug your kids, do something positive... It will come out who is responsible, then action can be taken.
