We're Not Broke (film) - just watched in its entirety

I just watched this - got online streaming for $4.99. It was WORTH it. I think DUers ought to set up house screenings together with their local friends, family, neighbors and others who need the info (even if they don't think they do):

We the people have been screwed and tattooed by the corprats who now own and control our gov't. We've been asleep - sitting ducks - for 40 years as they orchestrated this shit under the radar. We're just now waking up after having been essentially "economically raped" by these greedy assholes. I don't mean to minimize the violent crime of rape by using this term. It's just the only term I can think of that fits what has been done to the 99% over the past few decades.

I don't think people have quite figured out what to do about it yet. Occupy, US Uncut were amazing efforts but in the case of Occupy, the movement was brutalized in the streets by OHS+local police coordination on behalf of these same greedy corprats and they went home. But I think we'll figure it out eventually - then it will take decades to undo the damage IF disease, famine, nuclear damage, pollution/climate change, disasters caused by the aforementioned don't kill us all first.

Here's another great article on this issue: http://publicintelligence.net/many-u-s-comapnies-use-tax-havens-to-avoid-paying-taxes/

I mean, how subtle was the whole citizens united deal? Bank and industry bailouts. Assasinations and supreme courts deciding rigged presidential elections.

What argument do they make for all this being 'under the radar'.

I have seen the piece, but I am interested. Going to see if it is available from netflix.

Too many fall for the crap that politicians feed us and yes the multitude were asleep many are waking up... What we need is a strong leader to collect us altogether while we still have a democracy.....

..would prefer to support the filmmakers. Making decent films is expensive, especially documentaries/exposes

Unfortunately, I will probably have to wait until it comes to our library because unlike GE or Chevron, I do pay taxes and I'm broke.
