Fox takes Ann Coulter column down after reference to killing Meghan McCain

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Fox Nation website has removed a column by conservative commentator Ann Coulter because it had a reference to killing the daughter of Sen. John McCain.

Fox said Thursday that the post was removed because of the reference. It had been posted Wednesday.

Coulter wrote about how MSNBC's Martin Bashir suggested Republican senators wouldn't support stronger gun control legislation until a member of their family was killed. She wrote: "Let's start with Meghan McCain!"

McCain tweeted on Thursday that she "couldn't imagine living a life that seems so void of love, compassion and perspective."

Her mother, Cindy McCain, tweeted that "Ann Coulter needs to get a life!"

Wonder if Bill Maher will defend Coulter over this?

I've stopped worrying about Bill's political philosophy. It's all over the place. He's a political comedian that I often find funny. Sometimes he is wry and astute; other times, not so much. Nothing more.

I can't imagine this particular bit of idiocy will be treated any different.

down. Now that would be good news. Before the word police arrive, by take down, I meant fired her.

Also Maher doesn't defend Ann. He likes her but if you watched his shows recently, when she was on, he calls her on her bullshit. I think this is a reason, she's not on very much anymore. He won't allow her a platform to spew her venom.
