The Santorum campaign blasted out the news this evening that conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly will be voting for Rick Santorum. Schlafly came to prominence as an anti-feminist in the 1970s and succesfully fought ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. She announced her support for Santorum with a message to supporters of her organization, the Eagle Forum:
Faithfully,
Phyllis Schlafly

(23,664 posts)She probably shouldn't plan too heavily on doing something as much as four days away.

(37,161 posts)Now, being an atheist, I don't always take Mr. O'Nazareth at face value, despite his evident sincerity. For instance, He loses me on his "blind faith" riff, even though I think He's basically on track on things like humility and forgiveness. But I'm allowed to do that, because I don't worship Him as God.
If I interpreted His gestures correctly, it's supposed to be applied topically, particularly under the nose.
If Phyllis is endorsing this product, I would guess He told her the same thing. It was probably less exasperating for Him than once again going over the things He said that she's getting wrong. A lot less time, too.
I look forward to Phyllis' demonstrations of this Divine DermaCreme in the inevitable infomercials.

(8,339 posts)I would LOVE to see her sunken old face change when a man tells her to do what she's been telling women to do for decades. Who the fuck does she think she is, anyway? Doing the exact opposite of what she tells other to do.
In other words, the classic repuke.

Come to think of it, what is she doing leading a national organization, shouldn't she be at home cooking and cleaning? Such a hypocrite. Though, to be frankly honest, I doubt her endorsement counts for very much. Pegasus said it best "blah" indeed.
