Holy crap, I just watched part of the movie "Gifted Hands".....it was about Ben Carson!!!

By accident I came upon this movie about the life of a neurosurgeon, when sliding up and down the dial during the NCAA basketball game. I channel surf during advertisements and found this movie, didn't realize it was THE Ben Carson until I was watching for quite awhile....he had quite a little temper in his early years it showed. Needless to say I quite watching when I found out who it was. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1295085/

The first time I saw was a year or so ago.

Ben Carson was the first surgeon to separate craniopagus conjoined twins successfully: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Carson#Career

The film has NOTHING to do with politics at all.

I would recommend it for everyone to watch - just put aside what you know about him now in his more current years.

but the first to separate conjoined twins who were joined at the head. He is an incredibly talented neurosurgeon.

However, like too many men who make discoveries and do astonishing things in their own fields, he's a bit lost once he steps outside that field.

he is probably among the 4-5 best neurosurgeons in the world, regardless of what people think about his politics.

The movie was great. His story is INSPIRING.

And that's why it's all the more sad the bigot he has become.

"Marriage is between a man and a woman," Carson said. "It's a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality -- it doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition."

-- Dr. Ben Carlson
