And then the Democratic Party keeps giving people a reason to look elsewhere?
We've been in a position to effect change since January 2007, and yet keep implementing triangulated Repuke Party policies, day after day?
Sorry guys, but if you can't support the vast majority of people who elected you, you deserve to go the way of the Dodo.

They are far too useful to the big money boys to ever go away completely, they have more money than God, Allah and Jehovah all put together and the moral restraint of a rabid weasel.

(14,120 posts)That is our biggest problem. Once we someone in office we leave them out to dry. The power is not with the offices of this country, but with the People. We want change? Guess what we can't stop at the ballot box. Once we get someone in, that is when the work really starts.
We have to show backing for what we want by sending e-mails and phone calls to our reps. We have to make our belief know, even if it is a lawn sign in the yard. We have to control the national conversation starting in our hometowns. The Vast Majority needs to stop being quiet. Of they don't, the old players will always have the upper hand and our guys have to do stuff that we don't want because we take the power of change away.

I. Don't. Think. So.
Any candidate that requires that much hand-holding should find a different line of work. I vote for representatives, not sponges.

(14,120 posts)We are the power. We must work that power through the representatives, from city councilperson, Senators, Representatives (State of Federal), even the President of the United states.
Once we go quiet, we take that power away from them. And that is what we have done to President Obama. This is not a country where you can just go to vote and then do nothing. We are in charge and have to keep at it.
Have you ever notice how the Republicans are always out there? They know the secret. They always keep pounding, win or lose. They are forever writing their representatives, even when they are of their party. They know to keep up the squeak.
So if we want change, we better learn that we have to "Hand Hold" all the way to it! No mater who or what party is in.
