(8,492 posts)Maybe if they had someone under 60 write the damned questions it wouldn't be so offensive. Some of those questions read as if they're aimed at 6 year olds. "Would you vote for someone if they were nice?" wtf.

My answer:
The Republican party no longer represents the interests of the people. They represent the interests of the obscenely wealthy and big, publicly traded companies. They represent the religious but really don't know anything about the Bible or what Jesus actually taught. They claim to know history and the founding fathers but only hide behind a perceived image and false representation of what they actually stood for. They use the opinions of a lunatic fringe news network as a platform to get away with some truly evil stuff while dismissing fact checking as having a liberal bias. They use this network as a weapon to catapult propaganda without fact-checking to trick a truly ignorant audience to vote against their best interests. They allow the ultra wealthy like Charles and David Koch and huge corporations like Exxon Mobil and Goldman Sachs to loot our treasury, then trick the populace into thinking that people on welfare are taking their money. These are not the people who should be running the United States.

Considering it was a liberal/left party when it was founded in Lincoln's day, I'm curious if they simply pulled that out of their ass or if that's what they got after putting selected facts through a taffy-pulling machine.

(103,856 posts)12. What do you think about the Republican Party?
Petty.narrowminded, mean-spirited, deliberate purveyors of lies & misinformation. Consciously sabotaging the economy so they can run in & "save the day"... (see arsonist firefighters)
*
13. The Republican Party was founded on three core principles: Limited Government, Individual Responsibility and Low Taxes. Which of the following is true?
Orwellian gobbldegook words..Republicans have no core principles..well maybe two.....:contrarian voting to thwart the public good, and money-worship (even though most will never have much money)
*
20. What would a Republican have to do or say in order for you to vote for her/him?
Not sure they have the words...and "saying" something to get elected is not the solution.. Republican's deeds have proven them unworthy of public trust, ever again
50. Is there anything else that you would like to say? (Optional)
Republicans should form 3 parties. They are NOT a single party anyway..
christion morality party
fiscal conservative
Xenophobic Racist party
Tree-Hugger

A: Sick.
13. The Republican Party was founded on three core principles: Limited Government, Individual Responsibility and Low Taxes. Which of the following is true?
A: Does not believe in Limited Government. Believes in Individual Responsibility, unlike Jesus Christ. Believes in Zero Taxes. Particularly for Corporations who make their money thanks to the Commons they don't want to help pay for.
16. Why do you vote (or not vote).
A: I honestly don't know.
20. What would a Republican have to do or say in order for you to vote for her/him?
A: I've changed parties. (But only if s/he were not running against a more liberal Democrat.)
32. If you are registered to vote, why did you decide to register?
A: So I could vote.
36. Do you think that the Republican Party discriminates against people? If so, which people?
A:
African Americans
White People
Men
Women
Latinos
Asians
Environmentalists
Gays and Lesbians
(Too bad there wasn't a category called "all except corporate persons."
50. Is there anything else that you would like to say? (Optional)
A: Wake up. Or drop dead. Either works for me.
