Evangelical conservative confirms Ryan-esque GOP agenda is slashing social programs and giving the savings to billionaires

Gary Bauer, an evangelical conservative with strong ties to fundamentalist religious organizations, let the cat out of the Republican Party bag the other day. In the process, Bauer effectively demolished just about everything that Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) has said in his role both as House Budget Committee chair and former GOP vice presidential candidate.

Bauer: “If we gave our voters an accurate portrayal of our ideas, that we want to cut the rate of growth on Social Security, give tax cuts to billionaires and then the values issues, the values issues would be more popular than the economic agenda of the current Republican Party,” said Bauer, citing particularly those Mass-attending Roman Catholics who have fled the Democrats.

...

Bauer now strongly alludes to what's really going on: The Republican hierarchy and many in its elected rank and file just want to redeploy the money now spent on retirees, the disabled, the injured and the sick -- giving it to rich people.

Much of that money, of course, was collected from prospective federal program recipeints through years of taxes; nevertheless, goes the GOP plan, take much or maybe even all of that money from those deserving Americans who were promised those beenfits, and give it to the uber-wealthy in the one percent -- and mostly just to the one percent of the one percenters.

If you do calling to potential voters, the one single issue that can turn a voter away from a candidate fastest is women's rights. This is proven over and over again.

FSM knows the 1% don't actually MAKE anything or SERVE anyone. If they squeeze the 99% into starvation, who will produce the goods and services of the world? Then they won't have any pie to steal anymore. Extreme greed inevitably becomes self-destructive.

They don't need us. If American workers aren't willing to accept low wages and no benefits or job security, they'll move the jobs overseas or import cheaper, hungrier foreign workers. Countries like China and India also have a growing consumer class, so they can replace American consumers, at least for a while. There will still be pie for the 0.1 percent.

You would see very few if any of these professional religious ( paticuarily evangelical Christians ) people such as Bauer, Reed, and many others if there was not money involved. Millions of dollars are made from the gullible believers, fitting these charlatans with a life style of the maga-rich, feeding their egos being consulted as would be experts of what God has to say.
This is about power being given to people that could not gain it through any other avenue. They are tools of the oligarchs that seek to gain further control over the nations for their own advancement.
This is not an anti-religion perspective, I have the greatest respect for those that seek to follow their personal spiritual path, I have no respect for those that use religion for a way to make money, for self-advancement, for the pushing of an agenda that takes away the rights of others that being in the U. S. " life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness ".

That is, if one were to consult the New Testament & the teachings of Jesus and compare it to the efforts of Wall St and corporate politicians, it would be an 180 degree switch.
When one pauses to consider what they truly have stood for the last 40 odd years it almost seems they go out of their way to defile every commandment and give the religion a very bad name in the eyes of the world.
They loudly proclaim themselves the most Christian while breaking every vow they have taken. They bear false witness M-F 9-5. They destroy Eden with deforestation, acidification of the oceans and wars for oil. The seven deadly sins personified, if not in every thought, at least in every action.
Considering that only a Christian can commit the worst sin. Using the word of God for your own selfish ends, only a Christian can be anti-Christian. Which they are, in every sense of the word.
If I was on the lookout for wolves in sheep's clothing, I wouldn't have to look far in America.

are the GOP's best friend in keeping this agenda afloat. While the Big 3 are popular even among Republicans, many of them will neglect their party's desire to cut them, just because they have paranoid fantasies about tyrannical government takeovers or the "gay mafia" magically turning everyone gay, or "those people" stealing their money.

Does it seem plausible that Republicans just love to kowtow to the 1%ers JUST to get reelected? Are their narcissistic egos totally responsible for their behavior? Or is something else more sinister involved here? Like unaccounted-for kickbacks or promises of revolving door positions whenever they get tired of the Congress and want something more, or a combination of both? Avarice and greed are definitely at the bottom of it all, there can be no doubt about it. Do they get a kickback/bonus every time they open their mouths in front of a camera and do the 1%'s bidding? Just wondering. Would be interesting to see some serious investigative journalism (more than just a scratch-the-surface article) on this subject. Someone like Jane Mayer or Seymour Hersh.
