Five Killed in Rollover near Mesquite, DUI Driver Charged
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, five people were killed in a rollover crash early Saturday morning.
NHP says the crash happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. on the I-15 southbound at mile marker 100 near Mesquite.
Officials says a Chevy Astrovan was rear-ended by a Dodge Durango causing both vehicles to rollover. There were seven people in the Astrovan, and five died in the crash. A 49-year-old male, 45-year-old male, 41-year-old male, an unknown age adult female and a teenage female.
The 40-year-old female driver and a 15-year-old male passenger were transported by flight to UMC in critical condition.
The two people in the Dodge Durango, 18-year-old Jean Soriano and a 23-year-old male passenger were transported by ground with non-life threatening injuries.
Soriano was treated and released at UMC. He was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center charged with driving under the influence.
