His first problem is that he said it and believes it. It further codifies his incredible out-of-touchness. He is tone deaf and an elite that lives in that rarefied air of the uber-wealthy, without a grasp on how to connect with anyone other than his rich corporate buddies.
Second, it follows a long line of quotes from him that show he is not smart. He is not articulate or careful in his campaigning. He is careless. This would have never happened had he had some modicum of political wit. A simple modify would have never brought his true beliefs to the nation's attention. He could have said, "while I am concerned about the very poor, we need to build up the middle blah blah blah."
Tone-deaf and careless and too rich for his own good.

(14,524 posts)...believe that the only "gaff" part of his statement, is that he actually said out loud, EXACTLY what he BELIEVES with all of his greedy, selfish, ever privileged heart and soul. This bit of video should be put on a loop and aired on EVERY Democratic campaign commercial from now until election day.

(20,876 posts)He cares about one thing and that is himself. Period.
I'll be glad when the election is over as I won't have to look at him any longer.
