American Exceptionalism: now dear god there's a "health care lottery" for disabled, poor Tenneseans.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/25/us/tennessee-holds-health-care-lottery-for-the-poor.html?hpw

It would be funny if it weren't so despicable and disheartening! This story has had me stewing all day. What in the hell is this country doing? Why aren't folks in Tennessee out in the streets screaming about how their poor elderly are being treated?

There has to be a tipping point that can be finally reached. These poor people have to call an 800 number to get into a lottery that is over in an hour. People in other countries must look at us in disbelief and wonder why we put up with such a cruel, inhumane system!
