President Obama's Change This Video Needs to go Viral

I could write plenty on what was happening before January 20, 2009. I could present all sorts of pictures and graphics and statistics. They would paint the picture, but they would be unable to fully communicate the drastic nature of the change that occurred at noon on January 20, 2009 when we went from President George W. Bush to President Barack Obama. A 3-minute video, by @ChangeDidHappen that I came across on Facebook really communicates exactly what type of change we had at that moment and in the three years since, though it is far from comprehensive...
The reason this video is so powerful, particularly in its beginning, is because it effectively communicates exactly the situation President Obama faced when he took office. It reminds us that our economy is like a giant ship. We cannot change directions on a dime. If we are to change directions, first we must work to bring it to stop before we can actually turn things around. George W. Bush and the Republicans made such a mess that simply accomplishing the first necessary element for a turnaround, slowing down the pace of deterioration, a herculean task.
Our president is not perfect. I do not agree with him on every issue, nor do I expect to. However, I am thankful that he is our president. As I have said before, it is not just his policy positions that are important, but also the personal qualities that he brings to his job. It is his temperament. It is his thought process. It his ability to see the shades of gray. It is his ability to understand the consequences of his actions. Combine this with his policy positions and we have someone who has the makings of a great president. That, however, is something I will leave to the historians once he leaves office on January 20, 2017.
In the meantime, I look forward to working for his re-election this year, voting for him come November and making sure he has a Democratic Congress so we can continue the work he has started. President Obama is only as great as we give him the opportunity to be. He cannot do his work alone. He needs us there behind him to give him the tools necessary to move our country forward. Let me close with words that will make every conservative cringe when they have to hear it over and over when President Obama delivers his victory speech on November 6: Four more years!

How it is that so many on the left seem to despise Obama will forever be utterly beyond me, beyond reason.
Imperfect, but so effective within his constraints, Barack Obama is a remarkable president and, in large measure, saved our nation.
